Guide for cleaning whites

By adminblog

Doing laundry is essential to work in every household. We have a bunch of clothes to wash every weekend. And generally what we have is a collection of whites and colored clothes. Generally out of laze, we tend to wash all our clothes together. Forgetting the fact that the whites require more attention than the colored. The main reason for the white clothes turning grayish or yellowish is that we wash the whites with colored clothes. And the colored clothes will definitely lose their color when washed with detergents. Some of the materials such as cotton can easily catch the colors and aren’t easy to get rid of. Not only the colored clothes but also the water quality can affect the whites. Iron laden water and hard water are the 2 main water sources that can leave stains on your whites.

Now you must be wondering how to wash the whites. The best way to wash your white clothes is to wash them separately in the highest temperature that they can bear. Generally it is seen at the highest temperature a cloth can hold is 120 degrees. The detergent that you use also matters when cleaning your white clothes. Choose a detergent that has bleaching properties or contains enzymes and use it to the maximum amount. Using less detergent will not completely clean the cloth leaving some stains here and there. Also if your cloth is heavily dirty then soak them in the bleach before putting them for washing.

Treat the stains.

In order to remove the stain, pour liquid detergent or shampoo (colorless ones) on the stain and gently rub the stain so as to remove it. For rubbing on the stain you could use a toothbrush to brush on it. There may be cases that your whites will turn yellowish after a certain period of time .in such cases use a color remover or dip the cloth in boiling water and oxygen bleach.

Another important factor that plays a major role in the cleaning of the whites knows what the nature of your water is. If your water is rich in iron content that you have to use iron removing product first (which is easily available in the supermarkets). Also, use oxygen bleach for iron-rich water.

Even after cleaning the whites and removing all the stains possible, there are chances of your white cloth to start fading away. In order to prevent them from fading here are some tips and tricks that you can use to keep your whites white.

#1

Wash your white soon after one or two wear. Keeping them unwashed for a long period of time can lead to the formation of yellow layers on the cloth.

#2

Clean the stains as soon as possible. One of the worst things that you can do to your white is to keep the stain as it is for more than even a day. You must clean the stain as soon as possible because if the stain dries up it will be very difficult to remove.

#3

Always pick the detergent which contains bleach. Bleaching your white cloth can be very effective because they have strong bleaching properties that will make you whites look white

#4

Don’t overload the washing machine. if you overboard the washing machine the clothes will not get the room to spin and swirl and it had been proven that the cloth gets cleaned to best when it is circulated properly.

#5

It is always best to use hot water. Hot water is the most preferred one because it is seen that hotter the water is more germs it is likely to kill. Also, hot water can help in removing as much dirt as possible. But the most important thing to keep in mind is that not all clothes have the same heat resistant temperatures. In order to prevent the cloth from damaging or to prevent the shrinkage of the cloth make sure you check the label before you set the temperature of the boiling water.

#6

Dry the clothes as it is mentioned on their labels. Some washing machines have the feature of auto drying of the clothes but you must make sure that you do not over dry them. If that happens the clothes will look more worn out and dull. Also, it has been seen that if you dry your clothes outside it will have a different impact on the clothes making it look fresher. So you should semi-dry the clothes in the dryer and then let them have some of the ultraviolet rays so as to become crisp and fresh.
